Job Summary
The Medical Copywriting Lead role is about making sure medical content is good, interesting and follows the rules of pharmaceutical marketing. They will make content for doctors and patients in various formats. This work will support campaigns that use websites, printed materials, emails and social media. The role combines science with storytelling to make the brand message stronger and get interest from people.
Key Responsibilities
Create content for healthcare professionals and patients that is backed by evidence.
Turn facts, into messages that're clear, simple and engaging for different audiences.
Ensure every message supports the brand strategy and moves marketing goals forward.
Develop web content, blog posts and online tools that are easy to find and optimized for search engines. Help create content journeys that meet the needs of each group of people.
Always follow the rules, including the guidelines from the FDA and EMA when making content.
Work closely with teams to get content approved quickly and safely.
Keep all references and clinical details correct and up to date all the time.
Stay connected with Medical Affairs, Brand and Sales teams to make sure the messages are the same across all teams.
Work with designers and digital teams to make sure content is delivered and shared in the way.
Track how content is performing and update it regularly based on data and feedback from users.
Help writers keep the quality and consistent messages across all materials.
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or Journalism with a focus on writing.
An advanced degree like a PhD, PharmD or MD is a bonus.
Skills Required
More than 7 years of experience in writing content for pharma or healthcare marketing.
Experience making content for both healthcare professionals and patients.
Experience leading and checking content for quality and accuracy.
Having knowledge of therapy areas like cardiology, oncology or endocrinology is a plus.
Understanding of research and pharma guidelines.
Have spoken English skills.
Familiar with SEO, social media and email marketing practices.
Use CMS tools and platforms, like Veeva or Salesforce. Strong cross-team collaboration skills.
Salary Structure
