Job Summary
The Medical Officer (General) Position is a Government Job offered by the Government of Punjab. The recruitment process is being organized via Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot. The Medical Officer will provide healthcare services in Government Hospitals as well as other organizations that are connected with the Government of Punjab. Key Responsibilities
The Medical Officer will deliver both primary and secondary health services to the patients through examination, diagnoses and prescription of the right form of treatment for the condition. This job includes handling patients from both OPD and IPD departments. The officer will be tasked with dealing with any medical emergencies that may arise using proper decision making and action. Maintenance of the patient's medical records and case history is also an important aspect of the job.

Qualifications
The candidates should hold an MBBS degree from a recognized university/ institute, certified by the Medical Council of India.
The candidate should be a registered member of Punjab Medical Council during the time of application.
Candidates need to qualify in Punjabi language up to the matriculation level.
Age limit is between 18 to 37 years as in 1st January, 2026. Relaxation is given for categories like SC/BC candidates (5 years), physically handicapped (10 years), and ex-servicemen, and some categories for women.
Candidate should hold a citizenship of India, Nepal or Bhutan.
All candidates should fulfill all the required eligibility criteria as per the recruitment authorities.
Salary and Compensation
The salary for the position of Medical Officer (General) is offered as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) guidelines. The post falls under Level 9 of the Pay Matrix. The salary for the post is ₹53,100 or more on a contractual basis.
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates are entitled to applicable government allowances such as DA, HRA, and other benefits as per Punjab Government rules.
