Job Summary
The Pharmacovigilance Services Associate is responsible for providing support for drug safety and pharmacovigilance services. This is done through case management, data entry, and handling of safety databases. The duties also involve managing individual case safety reports (ICSRs), compliance with international regulations, and handling safety data with high quality.
The duties require precision and accuracy in work along with medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end case handling for Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs). This would involve:
Triaging
Data entry
Coding
ICSRs submission
as per guidelines provided by the client and regulatory authorities.
Recognize, validate, and prepare safety cases from different sources like intakes, email, and electronic portals.
Adverse events (AE), serious adverse events (SAE), and SUSAR cases will be collected, evaluated, and processed in the global safety database.
Validation of source documents for case validity, duplicity check, and medical relevance of the case.
Coding the case using coding systems like MedDRA & WHO Drug Dictionary.
Make sure that the activities comply with the client’s SOPs and global regulations related to pharmacovigilance.
Help with submission, monitoring, and reconciliation of safety data. Help with audits and inspections, and other pharmacovigilance-related activities.
Work together with various internal teams and external parties to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualification and Skill Requirement
Education: B.Pharm/ M.Pharm
Experience: 1 to 3 years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety
Knowledge of pharmacovigilance procedures, case processing of ICSR, and regulatory guidelines is desired in the candidates.
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and coding terminologies like MedDRA and WHO-Drug is essential.
Good communication and writing skills in medicine are desired.
Candidate must prove excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment with fast learning capabilities and efficient handling of regular responsibilities.
Rotational shifts might be necessary for the candidate to work.
