Job Summary
This role is for a Scientific Communications and Medical Information Analyst based in Bengaluru. The person will join a team that gives accurate, timely, and compliant medical information on products sold in the US. The role helps healthcare professionals make informed choices and supports safe patient care. It involves writing medical content, answering queries, and using digital tools. The role is office-based three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Write, review, update, and maintain high-quality medical content, including US standard responses and local scientific materials.
Give accurate, balanced, and timely answers to medical information requests for US products.
Design literature searches and custom responses for advanced questions from local markets.
Use medical information and content systems such as GMIP Inquiry, Vault MedComms, PromoMats, and AIMI.
Run full literature searches, check evidence quality, and use citations and copyright correctly.
Check medical accuracy and carry out quality, editorial, and promotional reviews.
Build deep knowledge of assigned disease areas, products, and diagnostics.
Work with scientific, medical, regulatory, and commercial teams so content stays consistent.
Plan and manage workstreams, spot risks early, and adapt quickly.
Help bring in digital tools and new technology to improve content quality and speed.
Educational Qualification
An advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience is needed, with PharmD preferred.
An MD, PhD, or equivalent qualification is also accepted.
Skills Required
Experience in medical information, scientific communication, or similar roles in pharma, biotech, or healthcare.
Clinical and healthcare systems knowledge.
Excellent written and spoken communication to explain complex science in a clear way.
Strong medical writing and content skills, such as making slide decks.
Good project management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work across teams and use technology platforms.
Knowledge of local regulatory, legal, and compliance needs for medical affairs work.
Experience with digital content and with systems like GMIP Inquiry, Vault MedComms, and PromoMats is a plus.
Salary Structure
The estimated salary for the Scientific Communications and Medical Information Analyst role at AstraZeneca (typically graded at GCL C3 in Bengaluru, India) generally ranges from ₹5 Lakhs to ₹11 Lakhs per year.
