Ameritus Hospital's looking for dedicated and highly skilled Medical Officers who have an MBBS degree to join the clinical team at their hospital in Ludhiana. As a Medical Officer at Ameritus Hospital you will be the one taking care of patients you will be responsible for checking patients when they first come in treating them and taking care of them over time across different departments.You will work closely with senior consultants and teams of people from many different areas to make sure that Ameritus Hospital always gives the best care to patients.This job is perfect for Medical Officers who really care about taking care of patients and want to work in a place that helps them get better at their job and learn new skills to handle emergencies. Patient Management is a part of the job. This means doing ward rounds and checking on patients every day. You will be a medical officer and so you also have to watch how patients are doing and make sure that people who are coming into the hospital get the care they need when they are admitted in the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Care is also very important. A Resident Medical Officer always needs to be ready anytime there can be a situation where you have to jump into action during an emergency. This includes giving the patients the help they need to keep them safe and stable. You need to be able to do things that can save lives.
As a team it is the collaborative effort to make sure patients get the best care. This is called Clinical Collaboration. You will communicate with the consultants and specialists and the nursing staff to make a plan on how you are going to treat each and every patient in the hospital.
We have to keep track of everything that happens with each patient. This is called Documentation. Computers are used to keep health records and so you have to make sure all the information is correct. When patients are ready to get discharged you will write a summary of each and every procedure and the line of treatment that was done while they were in the hospital.
We also help figure out what is wrong with patients. This is called Diagnostic Support. We look at lab results and pictures from machines that take images of the inside of the body. This helps us diagnose what is wrong. We can send patients to other departments if they need special care.
In this job patient advocacy also plays a major role . Making the patients and their families understand about what's wrong or what the illness is about and what they can do to get better is necessary. We tell them about the line of treatment and other options and what they need to follow in order to take care of themselves after they leave the hospital.
Skills Required
To be good at this job you need to have Proficiency. This means you have to be good at clinical procedures. For example you have to know how to do IV cannulation, catheterisation and help with intubation. You also have to know how to understand ECGs and Labs.
You also need to be good at Emergency Response. This means you have to be able to stay calm and lead when there is a "Code Blue" or a bad trauma situation.
You have to be good at talking to people. This is called Effective Communication. You have to be clear and kind when you talk to patients. You also have to be clear when you talk to the team especially when you are handing over information.
You have to be good at making decisions. This is called Decision-Making. You have to be able to look at a patient and figure out what is wrong quickly. Then you have to decide what to do
You have to have integrity. This means you have to be very professional and keep patient information secret. You have to do this every time you deal with a patient no what. Clinical Proficiency and Integrity are very important in this job.
To work in this role you need a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree which is also known as an MBBS degree from an institution that is recognised.
You must have a registration with the State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission.
It is good if you have some experience 1 to 2 years is what we are looking for and it is even better if you have worked in an ICU or, in the fields of Medicine or OBGY before.
You should be able to work at times including night shifts and weekends because we need to make sure our patients are taken care of all the time twenty four hours a day and seven days a week.
Qualification Required
To work here you need a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree which is also known as an MBBS degree from a school that is recognised.
You must have a registration that's valid and active with the State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission, which is also called the NMC.
It is preferred if you have one to two years of experience working in a clinic.
It will be a plus if you have worked in an ICU or in the medicine department or the OBGY department.
You need to be flexible and able to work at times like at night and, on weekends so that we can take care of patients all the time, twenty four hours a day and seven days a week.
