Job Summary

Scientific Officer job description is meant to help laboratories run and conduct research and quality activities in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This involves conducting tests and analyzing results in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate is supposed to conduct laboratory tests and analyses following established protocols and SOPs. This job involves testing raw materials, in-process and finished product samples.

The candidate is responsible for ensuring GLP, GMP, and other regulatory compliance. This job includes maintaining documents like lab reports and data from the testing and analysis of samples.

This job includes analysing the results of experiments. The candidate is responsible for supporting Research and Development or Quality Control activities depending upon the position.

This person will notice any deviations or inconsistencies during experiments and communicate the same to the higher-ups. This individual will help to solve problems related to the laboratory and improve the process.

As part of the position, the individual will have to maintain the laboratory equipment. The individual will make sure that there is proper calibration of the equipment.

The person will have to work in collaboration with other teams like the quality assurance team and the production team.

Qualifications and Skill Requirement

Education- M.Pharm or a related life sciences discipline.

Experience- 3-5 years of experience in:

  • Pharmaceutical research

  • Quality control, or

  • Manufacturing

The candidate must be aware of the basics of laboratory procedures, analytics, and pharmaceuticals.

GLP, GMP, and other related standards must be known.

The person must possess sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams are important in order to work with internal groups.

Basic familiarity with laboratory equipment and data analysis software is an added advantage.
