Tips from healthcare hiring

  • Write your nursing council name and registration number. Hospitals verify it before an interview.
  • Name the units: ICU, NICU, ER, OT, dialysis, oncology. Unit experience is how nurses are shortlisted.
  • Add numbers: beds in the unit, patients per shift, nurse-patient ratio.
  • If you are aiming for jobs abroad, list NCLEX, OET or IELTS scores and the date you passed.
  • Keep the CV to one or two pages. A short, clear list of skills beats a long paragraph.

Questions about the Nurse resume format

What should a staff nurse resume include?+

Your nursing council registration, the units and hospitals you have worked in, patients per shift, core nursing skills, BLS / ACLS and your GNM, B.Sc or M.Sc Nursing details.

How do I make a nursing resume as a fresher?+

Lead with your clinical training: the wards you were posted in and what you did there. Add skills like vital signs monitoring and medication administration, your registration and BLS if you have it.

Is this nurse CV format accepted for jobs abroad?+

Yes, it works as a base. For the Gulf, UK or Australia, add your exam scores (NCLEX, OET, IELTS, Prometric, DHA, HAAD) and keep the layout simple. The Clinical Classic layout is the safest choice.
