Job Summary 

CACTUS offers professional language editing services that help researchers present their findings clearly and improve their chances of publishing in leading academic journals. If you have a strong academic foundation, an interest in emerging research, and a passion for enhancing scientific writing, this role could be a great fit.

As an Editor, you will apply your subject-area knowledge to review and improve research manuscripts. The role involves maintaining scientific accuracy, ensuring discipline-specific clarity, and strengthening the overall quality and readability of the language. Your contribution will support researchers worldwide in communicating their work effectively and publishing high-quality research in reputed journals.

Key responsibilities 

  • Review and edit research manuscripts to make the scientific content clear, well-organized, and easy to understand without changing the author’s intended meaning.

  • Check scientific terms, concepts, arguments, and subject-specific language for accuracy, consistency, and suitability for the intended readers.

  • Improve the way complex research findings are presented so that the manuscript communicates the information effectively and is ready for publication.

  • Ensure the final manuscript follows high academic writing standards, with clear and grammatically correct sentences. Follow the required editing guidelines and format the manuscript according to the target journal when necessary.

Qualifications and Prerequisites 

  • A PhD degree in one or more of the relevant specialized subject areas mentioned below.

  • A strong research and publication record, preferably with 5–10 or more first-author publications.

  • Previous experience with peer review of scientific manuscripts.

  • Strong ability to evaluate study design, research methodology, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results.

  • Proven skills in reviewing scientific content and maintaining accuracy and consistency within the relevant discipline.

  • Excellent written English skills, along with strong attention to detail.

  • Previous experience in scientific editing, manuscript preparation, or academic publishing is an added advantage.
