Job Summary
This role based out of Gurugram and will represent Guardant Health's Medical Affairs department across designated Indian areas. The role is a mix of strategic medical planning and practical execution including evidence-generation initiatives, KOL involvement, scientific education, publication support, tumor boards and cross-functional collaboration. The Medical Affairs Executive will also capture field knowledge, regional strategy, evidence planning, market access priorities, and precision oncology testing adoption.
Key Responsibilities
EVIDENCE GENERATION: Participate in evidence gap assessments and support the development of India’s evidence and publication strategy aligned with regional and global Medical Affairs priorities.
MEDICAL PLANNING: Develop territory-specific medical plans using oncology care pathways, molecular diagnostics adoption, stakeholder needs, and evidence requirements.
CLINICAL STUDIES: Identify, plan and support industry funded studies, real world evidence projects, clinical utility efforts and investigator led research.
STUDY SUPPORT: Support feasibility assessments, protocol reviews, site initiation, investigator meetings, milestone tracking, time frames and risk management.
SCIENTIFIC OUTPUTS: Assist in the development, quality review of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, conference submission and evidence materials.
KOL ENGAGEMENT: Establish and maintain scientific ties with oncologists, pathologists, molecular laboratories, academic institutions, cancer centres, payers and other relevant stakeholders.
MEDICAL EDUCATION: Provide scientific education through presentations, grand rounds, CME programs, advisory boards, tumour board debates, workshops, and training sessions.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT: Provide compliant, evidence-based medical advice to Commercial, Marketing, Client Services, Market Access, Regulatory and distributor teams.
MEDICAL REVIEW: Review scientific and promotional materials for consistency with existing evidence, company standards, applicable rules and compliance requirements.
MEDICAL INSIGHTS: Collect, analyse and distribute insights gained via KOL engagements, conferences, advisory boards, tumour boards and field activities to help inform country and regional strategy.
GOVERNANCE AND REPORTING: Monitor KPIs and deliverables of Medical Affairs, provide risk and opportunity reporting, maintain correct documentation, and ensure that activities are conducted in an ethical, legal, regulatory, SOP and
corporate compliant manner.
Educational Qualifications
MD, MBBS, PhD, PharmD, MSc or comparable higher qualification.
Degree in medicine, oncology, pathology, molecular biology, genomics or similar area.
Skills Required
Excellent written and oral communication in English.
Ability to understand oncology, genetics, molecular diagnostics and clinical evidence and communicate this to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Strong stakeholder management, project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Knowledge of Medical Affairs governance, scientific interchange and compatible medical collaboration norms.
Engage with oncology KOLs, pathologists, academic centres, molecular labs, multidisciplinary teams or cancer-care institutions.
Ability to work independently, multi-task and perform in a fast paced setting.
Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and virtual meeting platforms.
Willingness to travel regularly for KOL interaction, conferences, on-site activities (travel may be around 40-50% based on company needs)
Additional regional language abilities are a benefit.
Responsibly analyse and use AI-enabled tools in compliance with company policy, ethical standards and regulatory constraints.
Salary Structure
The typical compensation of a Medical Affairs Executive at Guardant Health in India is ₹15 Lakhs to ₹23 Lakhs per year.
