Job Summary
A Medical Reviewer in Pharmacovigilance (PV) is a qualified physician (MD/MBBS) who provides crucial clinical expertise to validate safety reports. They assess causality, seriousness, and labeling of adverse events, ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety. This role involves reviewing case narratives for accuracy, performing signal detection, and guiding case processing teams.
Key responsibilities
Perform medical review of clinical, solicited, spontaneous, and literature-based safety cases, including causality and labeling assessments.
Evaluate the seriousness, medical relevance, and coding of cases, including adverse events, suspected drugs, concomitant medicines, laboratory results, and medical history.
Maintain strong knowledge of disease areas and key safety concerns related to marketed and investigational medicines.
Ensure all case reviews and safety activities are completed within regulatory and SOP timelines.
Support Drug Safety teams by providing medical expertise and product-related guidance to improve case quality.
Participate in internal and client safety meetings, forums, and audits as a representative of the medical safety team.
Review and respond to queries and comments related to individual case safety reports in the patient safety database.
Prepare, send, and track medical follow-up queries to obtain additional information required for case reports.
Provide medical and product-related advice, particularly for cases involving Suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reactions (SUSARs).
Ensure compliance with global and local procedures, client requirements, safety policies, and regulatory processes.
Educational Qualification
Graduate in MBBS or MD degree (mandatory)
Professional Experience
1 to 4 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance, Drug Safety, or Medical Review is preferred.
Experience in reviewing adverse event cases (ICSRs) using global drug safety databases.
Ability to apply medical knowledge effectively in drug safety activities.
Good understanding of drug safety and regulatory processes.

Salary Structure
The Medical Reviewer position offers an estimated salary range of ₹9 LPA to ₹15 LPA, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and overall suitability for the role.
