St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences is hiring a Project Research Scientist I for the ICMR SMaRT Trial in Bangalore. This is a contract opportunity for life science postgraduates and PhD holders who are interested in clinical research.

 Job Summary 

This role is for a Project Research Scientist I on the ICMR SMaRT Trial in Bangalore. The study tests how exercise and nutrition affect muscle health in women treated for breast and gynaecological cancers. You will support recruitment, health assessments, intervention monitoring, follow-up, and study records.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate research work across all study sites. Keep the protocol running smoothly.

  • Identify, screen, and recruit participants from community and hospital settings.

  • Coordinate participant visits and intervention delivery follow-up.

  • Coordinate physical, body measurement, body composition, and function tests after proper training.

  • Coordinate the collection, processing, storage, and recording of samples as per study SOPs.

  • Assist with biomarker tests and work with the lab team to finish them on time.

  • Enter study data accurately and on time in case report forms and electronic databases.

  • Check data quality, spot and help resolve data queries.

  • Maintain records, study files, screening logs, enrollment logs, and follow-up records.

  • Coordinate communication between investigators, sites, and study staff. Share regular progress updates.

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in preparing progress reports, presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts.

  • Protect privacy and follow the approved protocol; institute rules and ethical guidelines.

 Educational Qualification 

  • A PhD or postgraduate degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical research, nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, public health, or a related field is preferred, as per ICMR eligibility rules.

  • PhD candidates will get preference.

  • The age limit is 35 years.

Skills Required 

  • Experience in research, clinical trials, and participant recruitment.

  • Good understanding of study protocols, SOPs, and ethical guidelines.

  • Data entry and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.

  • Clear communication skills to work with investigators, sites, and participants.

  • Ability to handle sample collection and basic lab coordination.

  • Language skills in English, Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, or Tamil are preferred.

Salary Structure

Project Research Scientist I is a contract role with a monthly salary of Rs.72,800.
