In Bhubaneswar, the Bank runs medical facilities at its Officers' and Staff Quarters, offering basic healthcare support to employees, their families, and retired staff members.

 Job Summary  

This is a contractual position for a Bank's Medical Consultant, based in Bhubaneswar. The consultant will provide medical care at RBI's dispensaries during fixed evening hours, six days a week. The role involves treating staff, their dependents, and retired employees, along with handling emergencies, minor surgeries, and general health checks. The contract runs for three years, with a fixed hourly remuneration.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Attend to the assigned dispensary during fixed duty hours, six days a week.

  • Provide free medical advice, prescriptions, and injections to staff and their families.

  • Be available for urgent consultations at your private clinic when needed.

  • Treat minor and major illnesses reported by staff and dependents.

  • Handle emergency cases and refer patients to hospitals when required.

  • Administer injections safely and train pharmacists to handle routine cases.

  • Manage minor surgeries and dressings, or guide pharmacists for routine ones.

  • Visit staff members at their quarters when requested and submit health reports.

  • Issue medical certificates and verify certificates from other practitioners.

  • Certify the health and fitness of employees or prospective employees, when needed.

  • Issue order forms for special medicines required by staff.

  • Help arrange hospital facilities for staff needing indoor treatment.

  • Inspect office and residential quarters once a month for hygiene checks.

  • Carry out vaccinations, such as typhoid and smallpox, when necessary.

  • Submit an annual health report on the general wellbeing of staff.

  • Maintain proper storage and record keeping of medicines.

  • Advise on drug stock levels and consumption patterns.

  • Give professional opinions on medical claims when asked.

  • Handle any other medical related tasks assigned by the Bank.

 Educational Qualification 

  • MBBS degree from a university recognized by the National Medical Commission (earlier, Medical Council of India).

  • At least two years of experience practicing medicine in a hospital or clinic.

  • Residence or clinic located within 3 to 5 kilometers of the RBI dispensaries.

 Skills Required 

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills as a general medical practitioner.

  • Good communication skills to interact with staff, families, and hospital contacts.

  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and refer cases when needed.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

  • Willingness to work fixed evening hours, six days a week.

  • Comfort working independently as a contracted medical consultant.

 Selection Process 

  • The Bank will shortlist eligible candidates based on the application received.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

  • RBI reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards to limit the number of candidates called for interview.

  • Simply meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call.

  • Candidates who are not shortlisted will not receive any further communication from the Bank.

  • After the interview, selected candidates will need to undergo medical tests as per prescribed norms.

  • The cost of these medical tests must be paid by the candidate.

  • Final appointment depends on the candidate being found medically fit.

  • The candidate must accept the Terms and Conditions of Contract and the Code of Conduct.

  • The selected candidate will need to sign a formal agreement with the Bank before starting work as the Bank's Medical Consultant.

 Salary Structure  

  • MBBS Doctors with up to 20 years of experience: Rs. 1,400 per hour, fixed for the entire three-year contract period.

  • MBBS Doctors with more than 20 years of experience, and MD Doctors: Rs. 1,800 per hour, fixed for the entire three-year contract period.

  • Conveyance Expenses: Out of the total monthly remuneration, Rs. 1,000 per month is treated as conveyance expenses.
