Job Summary
The Safety Specialist supports planning. Running clinical studies in Abbott’s Medical Devices business. The job involves keeping study schedules on track collecting data from teams making sure all studies follow the same rules and fixing operational problems. The specialist checks that trial activities follow protocols, SOPs, Good Clinical Practice and local laws. The role also watches study progress talks with stakeholders and follows up on issues to keep studies on time.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate and share timelines for studies.
Gather input from teams and set plans for timely deliverables.
Encourage study processes across all trials.
Coordinate operational activities in studies.
Help sites and vendors when needed.
Help prepare and manage trial budgets.
Make sure study activities follow approved protocols.
Check compliance with SOPs, local regulations.
Monitor study progress versus planned milestones.
Identify developing issues. Follow up with the right team members.
Work with project teams and line managers to solve challenges.
Support successful and timely completion of deliverables.
Educational Qualification
An Associate’s degree or an equivalent education is required for this role.
Relevant education in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology or another health or science field is useful for this role.
The job requires least 1 year of relevant experience.
Skills Required
Skills in coordinating trials and planning studies.
Knowledge of research processes and study protocols.
Understanding of GCP, SOPs and relevant regulations.
Ability to plan timelines and track projects.
Good communication across teams.
Problem‑solving and issue‑resolution skills.
Follow up on pending tasks.

Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of operations, sites, vendors and study deliverables.

Salary Structure
The average salary for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or Safety Specialist at Abbott in India ranges from approximately ₹7.6 Lakhs to ₹12.2 Lakhs per year, depending heavily on your level of experience.
