 Job Summary 

This is a full time Pharmacist job in Ambur, Tamil Nadu reporting to Pharmacy In-charge. Dispensing medications and medical supplies accurately, maintaining adequate stock levels, following hospital pharmacy protocols, and complying with applicable regulations are part of the function.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Dispense after checking prescription and accuracy of medicines, strengths, batch numbers, expiration dates, labels and packaging

  • Keep dispensing accuracy high and work to meet the error level required by the job.

  • Update the registration of narcotic drugs on daily basis and keep records of scheduled medicines and drugs for tuberculosis.

  • To carry out monthly stock checks in hospital wards and to ensure the pharmacy has sufficient supplies.

  • Follow up on patients for their next pharmaceutical buy as per their prescriptions.

  • Maintain pharmacy registers, records, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) documentation and incident reports.

  • Keep records of billing, local purchase receipts, vouchers and other financial data as required.

  • Prepare reports for transplant sales and inventory data for A-class and B-class.

  • Keep a watch on the use of stationary and collect the necessary information on medicine utilization and stock.

  • Review patient feedback. Respond to feedback obtained via the hospital's patient feedback system as necessary.

  • Participate in pharmacy audits, medication ordering, staff meetings and departmental reviews.

  • Maintain good handover paperwork and keep the pharmacy running properly when the supervisor is not there.

 

 Educational Qualification 

  • Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)/Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

  • A valid registration or licensing with the State  Pharmacy Council,

 

 Skills Required 

  • Awareness about the generic medicine names and the substitute brands accessible in the market.

  • Familiarity with Indian Pharmacopeia (IP).

  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy and medication dispensing procedures.

  • Familiarity with drug dose calculations and drug usage rates.

  • Ability to use computers, pharmacy software and hospital management information system.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement, stock maintenance and inventory management and storage.

  • Knowledge of narcotic substances and control of scheduled medications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Patient handling abilities and ability to provide clear drug information.

  • Ability to solve problems to be able to help patients and solve pharmacy issues.

  • Careful attention to the accuracy of prescription processing, documentation, billing, and record-keeping.
