Job Summary
This is a part time engagement for a Medical Consultant role, based in Chennai. The consultant will provide medical support at BHEL's registered hospital facility for a fixed number of hours each day. The role is offered on a temporary basis for one year, with possible renewal based on performance. The position suits qualified doctors looking for flexible, part time Government job in medical field.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultation and care to patients at the registered hospital facility ensuring each patient receives attentive attention.
Attend duty for six hours a day, between 10 AM and 4 PM.
Maintain medical records and documentation for each consultation keeping records accurate and up to date.
Follow all hospital protocols. Required medical standards, during duty hours staying compliant and careful.
Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure patient care working closely with nurses and technicians.
Submit invoices for remuneration and conveyance as an independent professional.
Produce a medical fitness certificate at the time of joining, if selected.
Educational Qualification
MBBS degree, registered with the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.
At least one year of work experience in a registered hospital.
Please note that House Surgeon experience will not be counted as work experience.
Skills Required
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
Good communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff.
Ability to work independently during scheduled duty hours.
Strong sense of responsibility and professional conduct.
Comfortable managing documentation and invoice submissions.
Age Limit
The upper age limit as on 31.08.2026 is 65 years, relax-able up to 70 years on approval of Competent Authority.
Selection Process
Selection process will be through interview of the shortlisted candidates. Candidates called for interview will not be paid any TA/DA.
Salary Structure
The role offers a remuneration of Rs. 500 per hour. Payment will be made against invoice submission, as the engagement is on an independent professional basis.
