Job Summary
The General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) will provide medical services at NPCIL’s Tarapur Maharashtra Site Hospital on fixed term appointment. The candidate should have MBBS with appropriate Post Graduate Diploma (DRM or equivalent) or one year of related experience after qualification. The position is for supporting healthcare services in NPCIL facility and requires valid medical registration.
Key responsibilities
The medical officer will provide care and healthcare services at the NPCIL Tarapur Site Hospital.
Support the needs of employees and personnel at the nuclear power facility.
Perform duties associated with the General Duty Medical Officer position as assigned by NPCIL.
Maintain medical records and documentation related to patient care.
Coordinate with the hospital and medical team to support healthcare services.
Follow NPCIL’s safety and operational guidelines while performing assigned duties.
Participate in activities and responsibilities required at the Tarapur Maharashtra Site Hospital.
Qualifications
MBBS from a recognized university/institution.
MBBS + relevant PG Diploma including DRM or equivalent from recognized university
OR
MBBS from a recognized university + one year post qualification relevant experience.
Valid and renewed medical practitioner registration with the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.
Qualifications must be from an institution recognized by UGC, AICTE, Medical Council of India, or the appropriate statutory authority.
Maximum age limit is 35 years as specified in the advertisement.

Age Limit and Relaxation
You must be 35 years old or younger on the date that the NPCIL web portal puts out the notification or advertisement.
PwBD candidates in the groups we have listed are allowed to apply.
Age relaxation to PwBD candidates following the rules set by the Government of India.
Spouse of an NPCIL employee working at NPCIL sites we may give you age relaxation with no age limit. This is only if you get approval and meet all the required qualifications.
If a candidate qualifies for age relaxation in than one group you might be able to combine those age relaxations. However the total age cannot go higher than 56 years.
SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates can still choose to apply for posts. Please keep in mind that if you apply for a post you will not get any reserved-category relaxation or any special concessions, during the recruitment process.
Selection Process
Final selection will be based on the candidates performance in the Personal Interview.
The Personal Interview will have a total of 100 marks.
The minimum passing score for candidates who're in the Unreserved category is 70 percent.
If two candidates get the marks, in the interview the older candidate will be chosen first in the list of successful candidates.
Service Conditions
Selected candidates will be appointed under the Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) Scheme of NPCIL.
Accommodation, transport, medical care, canteen service, leave, holidays and other relevant facilities will be provided according to the NPCIL Fixed Term Appointment Scheme.
Medical care and CHSS services will be given to fixed-term appointees provided that the required contribution's deducted from the consolidated monthly pay.
The fixed-term appointment will automatically end when the period set in the appointment order expires.
Either party may end the appointment before the fixed term is finished by giving at fifteen days notice or by paying an amount equal, to fifteen days consolidated pay.
Place of Posting
The place of posting for the selected candidate will be the NPCIL Tarapur Maharashtra Site Hospital, Tarapur, Maharashtra.
General Conditions
Verification of Original Documents
Verification of original documents will be done at the time of Personal Interview.
Candidates not producing the original documents shall not be allowed to appear for the interview.
Candidates should carry original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies of all the required documents.
The duly signed hard copy of the application form is also to be submitted at the time of Walk-in Interview.
DOB Proof
The candidate will have to produce School Leaving Certificate or Class X passing certificate indicating the date of birth as proof of date of birth.
Maximum age and other eligibility conditions will be considered as on the date of notification/advertisement published on NPCIL web portal.
Qualification Documents
Candidates are required to submit certificates and mark sheets of each year/semester in support of prescribed educational and professional qualification.
Candidates need to provide the latest renewed registration certificate for registration as medical practitioner with Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council applicable in India.
PwBD candidates should submit a valid Disability Certificate issued by the competent certifying authority.
All educational and professional qualifications should be from recognized universities / institutions recognized by UGC, AICTE, Medical Council of India or any other appropriate statutory authority.
Candidates must produce relevant experience or service certificates from the employer on official letterhead with the seal of the employer.
The experience certificate must clearly mention the period of service, nature of experience, designation, and details of duties or responsibilities.
How to Appear for the Walk-in Interview
Candidates must attend the Walk‑in Interview at the venue, date and time listed in the advertisement.
Candidates should bring their relevant certificates along with one self‑attested photocopy of each document.
Candidates must bring the application form that is fully filled as required in the advertisement.
Candidates should also bring two passport‑size photographs.
Candidates must download the application form from the NPCIL website under HR Management → Opportunities/Policies. Bring the completed form to the interview.
Candidates working in Central or State Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous bodies or aided institutions must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
Candidates will be appointed as Medical Officers after being declared medically fit by the authorized Medical Officer of NPCIL.
Candidates applying under PwBD will receive the relaxations and concessions that are in line, with the Government of India rules.
Salary Structure
The appointment is for one year, with a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹1,27,000.
